CAL FIRE (San Mateo – Santa Cruz Unit) in partnership with the Resource Conservation Districts of San Mateo and Santa Cruz Counties invite you to participate in either of two meetings for the presentation of the draft San Mateo – Santa Cruz County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). The purpose of these meetings is to provide an overview of the draft CWPP and to solicit feedback for incorporation into the final draft. The public comment period closes on March 19, 2010.

Community Wildfire Protection Plan
- The San Mateo-Santa Cruz CWPP
- was released in draft form on February 17, 2010. Public comments were received through March 19, 2010 and a final draft is now under preparation. The CWPP reflects a comprehensive update to the the previous Cal−Fire Unit Plan ( San Mateo-Santa Cruz Fire Plan). Coordination of CWPP development was conducted by a Steering Committee consisting of the Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County (RCDSCC), San Mateo Resource Conservation District (SMCRCD), CAL FIRE and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. A Stakeholder Advisory Committee, along with diverse public input, also helped guide the process of CWPP development.
